Book Sales

The Friends of the Bismarck Public Library Used Book Sale is held every March and October in the meeting room level of the Public Library. Paperbacks and hardcovers are sold at $1.00 per pound. All proceeds benefit the Bismarck Public Library.

Donations

Donated items in good condition may be brought to the Library during business hours. Donations may be brought to the circulation desk. If you have a larger amount of items, stop in or call the circulation desk (701-355-1480) to notify staff, and someone will assist you with unloading your donation at the loading dock on the west side of the building. Help make the heavy lifting easier for Library staff and volunteers by packing donations in boxes of manageable size - nothing heavier than 25 pounds please! 

The following types of items are accepted for the book sale:

• Books (hardcover and paperback) 
• DVDs & Blu-Rays
• CDs
• Audiobooks on CD
• Records/LPs
• Sheet Music
• Board Games
• Video Games
• Puzzles

Please do not bring the following as donations for the sale:

• No items that are torn, dirty, or in otherwise poor condition
• No moldy or water-damaged items or items with an odor
• No textbooks
• No encyclopedias
• No Readers Digest condensed books
• No magazines, newspapers, or journals
• No loose-leaf papers or documents
• No VHS or cassette tapes
